1 to 5: dots lead
The digit tells you how many dots come first. 3 is three dots then two dashes (...--), 5 is all five dots.
Every morse code number is exactly five signals long — that's the trick. Count up from 1 and a dot turns into a dash each step, until 0 is five dashes. Tap a digit to hear it.

Past five it mirrors: 6 is one dash and four dots, 9 is four dashes and one dot, and 0 is five dashes (-----).
Send each digit separately — 1844 is .---- ---.. ....- ....-. Paste any date into the morse code translator to hear it, or turn it into a morse code necklace.
